Ebbets Field Right Field Wall and Scoreboard - Circa 1957


This menacing right field wall was 38 feet tall, 19 feet of concrete topped by 19 feet of screen. The bottom half of the concrete portion angled in toward the warning track. In addition, the sizable right field scoreboard jutted out five feet from the wall at a 45 degree angle. Carl Furillo and Duke Snider were experts at protecting Brooklyn clothier Abe Stark, whose sign under the scoreboard promised: “Hit Sign Win Suit.”
